Happy Monday Morning!

It was pouring on Saturday - trees were sideways and even my window sills started leaking. That reminds me that I have to call the management company and let them know. Anything structural is their responsibility.
Saturday afternoon Jess and Stephen came over to go to dinner to celebrate Jess' belated birthday. We went to Slaters 50/50 burgers in Anaheim Hills. What an awesome place! That was actually the setting for my company Christmas party last year. You can build your own custom burger. I ordered the fried chicken and pancakes "burger". It came with 2 pancakes on the bottom, layered with fried chicken, thick cut bacon, bacon gravy, topped off with a fried egg and another pancake and smothered in maple syrup. Can you say heart attack waiting to happen? I only had a few bites and saved the rest for Sunday morning. Here is G, Stephen and Jess having a few Irish car bombs in celebration of St. Patty's day on Saturday!

Sunday was pretty relaxing. Gary had worked all week (and had school two nights) then worked Saturday as well. Sunday night he had to go back into work at 11pm. We just watched movies and hung out in the house all day. It was so cold and windy I didn't even want to go outside.

I get to work this morning and sit through the long, stressful, boring sales meetings like every Monday. And when I turn on my computer I see this!!

The labs show that you are mildly anemic. you need to take iron ( ferrous sulfate) 325 mg once per day. this may be bought anywhere like rite aid or walmart. you do not need a prescription.

So far the labs show that you did not pass the diabetes test. Some women get diabetes in pregnancy only. You will need to go to the lab and do a 3hr glucose test. This test has been ordered for you. With this test you must be fasting at least 10hours. I will notify you once the results are back. All you need to do is go to the lab and they will give you instructions about the test. You can drink only water. No juice or soda. This test may be done on the weekends at Lakeview hospital or Garden Grove clinic.

F'ing awesome right? I feel absolutely fine, have NONE of the 'symptoms' listed. I really doubt for even a second that I will end up having gestational diabetes. I eat well, exercise and am at a healthy weight for my pregnancy. I have NO history of diabetes on either side of my family. Seems like a load of crap to me, but I guess I will have to endure the stupid 3hr glucose test and fast. I am really pissed off about this. First of all, I have absolutely no patients to sit around in a waiting room for 3hrs while they draw blood every hour. Second of all, I think this is just a ploy by the doctors because they drew the blood this first glucose test too early and it threw off the results - so they can't wait to charge the insurance another time for this 'more in-depth' glucose test. Waste of my time.
